So, I had a Versa 2, loved it, had if for 367 days and then the heart rate monitor just stopped working. I've a 2 year warranty on the device, so contacted Fitbit, no problem, don't send it back, we'll send you replacement, (or you can have a discount on a versa 3) - so chose a replacement....the replacement arrived and the sticker on the bag said "Refurb", and the device had been registered 13 months before, ok, it's replacement...so 4 weeks of using and the refurb device has a battery life of less than 12 hours and the screen keeps flashing and rolling down the screen; anyways got on to Fitbit again....after a lot of back and forward and try this and check that and come back to us they've asked me to send back the refurb device; with my original charger for some reason.....anyway now we're back and forward trying to get a shipping label....so first question - Is a Refurbished device an acceptable replacement when under warranty? Personally I don't think that was in the small print when I bought it and it should be a like for like replacement but also am I missing something with this company, the customer service just seems to degrade every time you have any interaction with them, should it really take over a week to agree the device has an issue and then another few days to get a shipping label.

The warranty terms say: "...replace the Product with a New Product or Refurbished Product...."
The terms can be found via the link at the bottom of this page or via: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/legal/returns-and-warranty
Whether that's acceptable or not is down to the individual but Fitbit do seem to be within their rights to supply a refurbished replacement.

guess that answers that, just a shame the refurb product is so poor.....
