Can a Versa play music from a free music app without your iPhone present? I am thinking about upgrading to a Versa so I can listen to music while at the gym but I don’t want to bring my phone inside. Also, I don’t “own” any music to load to the Versa so I want to just use a music app. TIA

Hi @Buerlaur . Welcome to the Fitbit forums.
To play music via the Versa, you have to pre-load music onto the tracker, either your own music, or streamed playlists from either Pandora or Deezer subscription music streaming services. Even with subscription (or free trial) with Pandora or Deezer, you cannot just start listening; you have to pre-load the music via wifi and the Windows 10 app.

I never figured out the music thing without "subscribing" (paying for) an app. This was the main reason I bought it. I refuse to pay, so - NO MUSIC

@Cincher You can also load music that you already have in your own music library.

Hello @Buerlaur and @Cincher, have a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for your insight about this situation @JohnnyRow I hope you're doing well.
@Buerlaur and @Cincher I appreciate you have taken the time to post your question. Please note that as long as your Versa has been set up and is syncing normally with the Fitbit app on your phone, you can use Music Control in it. Simply open your preferred music app on your phone (linked to your Versa) and start playing your music, then press down the left button on the Versa for 2 seconds and swipe to the right, you will be able to control the music from here.
I hope this resolves your inquiry, if there's anything else we can do for you, please feel free to reply.
