I've never owned a fitbit ever, but the Versa really caught my eye and I was ready to preorder until I read other people's experience with previous Fitibits and Android phones not in the compatibility list, which is missing a lot of phones new and old.
The people I planned on gifting the Versas too own LG G6, Asus Zenfone 3, LG Q6, and other phones not in the compatibility list which leans heavily to Samsung phones.
Does the Versa use the same system as the old Fitbits when it comes to the Android app or is it somewhat more forgiving now that Fitbit has bought Pebble.
Thank you very much.

S9 works just fine. Samsung is well ahead of the game. It's compatible. They just won't give Fitbit permission to say so because of competition with their own Samsung Gear watch line.
@DWade83, your husband's V30 will work as well. It's on android Nougat. Again, same issue - LG has their own watch line like Samsung, so it's a competition thing.
So much misinformation in these Fitbit forums. Smh.

I have a Gear S3 classic, and I can tell you the difference between the watches in comfort and size is huge. Trust me on this; the mic and usability of answering calls in the watch is honestly not that useful or great. You're better off having your Bluetooth headset or headphones connected. You can now answer and reject calls with the latest update on the Versa.
However, if you're doing the whole separate sim LTE version, that's a different story. That gives you more flexibility, but battery life is terrible on this version.
I have the non-lte version and it can go about 3 days, but I prefer my Versa over it.

I have the S2, standalone, so it's nice to not have to take my phone. I thought the Versa doesn't have a mic. Still debating...going to go look at them this weekend.

It doesn't. It controls your phone, nothing else. It'll make your phone pick up if you accept a call afaik, haven't tested yet though.

It is getting hard to find the "older phones" that are on the approved list as a new item. I am not willing to buy a used phone. I have Verizon asking why I want to buy 2 year old technology because the new phones are better but the new phones are not on the list. I love the Versa but I regret buying it.

I have a OnePlus 5 and I am planning to buy the Fitbit versa. Can anyone please tell me whether it's compatible or not?
It will really help me decide
Thanks

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well.
Please note that Fitbit is compatible with more than 200 of the most popular Android, iOS and Windows mobile devices. The full list of compatible devices with confirmed compatibility can be found here.
If a device isn’t listed it doesn’t mean it won’t work with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch. We routinely test new devices to ensure full compatibility with Fitbit devices and the Fitbit App, and are constantly working to confirm compatibility with new phone models. A majority of Android phones running version 4.4 or higher will work with our products, however we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility.
Thanks for your understanding, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

I have the oneplus 2 and have done for 3 years. My alta worked fine. I upgraded in April to the Versa and it is not compatible with the phone. The app doesn't sync with the phone - it cant even pick up steps. Really disappointed. Be careful with the one plus phones is my advice!

Waiting to buy anything until you test the Samsung S9. Any idea when your developers will test?

I have an Honor 6x and the Versa hates it... but the older Honor 6 plus is on the compatible list... so I am supposed to downgrade my phone to one four years older to get compatibility? My Versa won't even sync with my PC which runs windows 10. I am disappointed.

I regret buying it also.. I wished I had know before I bought it that it is not like the other fitbits and may not work on all phones. kind of pisses me off.. all these cute commercials of it, the most important thing was left out, will it work with your phone! It does not work with my phone

Has there been any progress on this list yet ? I have a Note 8. It isn't on the list and I don't want to spend that much money if it won't work either way.

The capability list is more so for the app than it is for the Fitbit. Samsung and LG have a lot of phones on the capability list, so more than likely the Fitbit will work with those phones. The list is constantly being updated, so the best bet is to keep checking it. I have owned an LG (Fuel and a Power) before and currently own a Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro, none of which are on the capability list, but I never had syncing issues with any of those models.

I have the LG G6. It worked perfect for the first month that I had it and then I did the update fitbit had and from then on it didn't work at all, They said my phone was on the list of not compatible devices.
