Is the Versa waterproof?

ANSWERED

I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?

I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

To add on, I went swimming in the sea with my versa on and it broke. Gutted.

Unfortunately I think you are just having really bad luck. I’ve had my watch for almost a year and take it in water all the time and it’s never an issue. Sorry to hear about this happening to you but the versa is water proof and it is not false advertisement

I’m not sure why this thread is marked solved, but I have had my Fitbit replaced twice for water damage. I went swimming with the first one and did laps. It was fine and then died 2 months later only because of moisture from sweat. The second one lasted about the same amount of time. In the event that this 3rd one dies I will not replace it and will seek a refund. They amount of complaints related to water damage suggests this is not an issue that has been resolved Fitbit admin.

I completely agree; this watch is not water proof.  I am now wearing my fourth watch and I have not gotten it wet.  I will not get it wet.  I will  keep it because I like the watch.  But, the water proofing claim on this watch is false advertising.

Best Answer

Fitbit did not offer me a refund but offered to pay one-half on a watch of my choice.  I choose to keep the Fit Versa because I like the watch, but the water proofing aspect is definitely false.

Update:

Am I really having bad luck.  As I said before, this is my fourth watch.  The first three watches went bad after my water aerobic exercises.  I have had this one for several months and have not gotten it wet and it is still working.  It not that much bad in the world!

I’m sorry your Versa stopped working while sleeping... I was going diving in Hawaii, but I decided not to wear it... I wear it in the shower every day and it works wonderfully...
Maybe I was lucky to get a good one.. I haven’t swam with it only in the shower.. I hope they replace it for you.. They told me it is water proof and that I could dive as deep as
50 feet... I didn’t want to test it..I’m sorry for you and everyone that has texted me...
I wish all luck....

Mine was water resistant for almost a year and then it wasn't. Not a small leak either - lots of water came out of the seams around the sensor, and it only touched water for a few seconds (I was cleaning it). I think that sweating a bit could have killed it at this point.

Oh well, it's going back, and I'll see what they do about it.

Everyone saying “this watch is not water proof” is having the worst of luck. I’m on my first watch and I have had it for six months and never had it malfunction in the water once. Perhaps try switching to an Apple Watch if you are on your fourth versa?

I’m not having any problem either.. wear it in the shower every day.. I was told it was
water proof from the company... I asked them How deep I could dive and would it be safe? He said yes of course and I could dive down 50ft. when I got on the boat, some
thing told me not to wear it... and I didn’t and its still working...
thanks for your input...

  • Perhaps it is time for me to consider another brand other than Fitbit.  After 4 failures I can’t blame that on bad luck!
Best Answer
no you can’t... that is a high number 4 broken fitbits... I have been so lucky with my F.Bs
I wish you luck... do you know what brand you would be interested in?
