Is the Versa waterproof?

ANSWERED
Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?

I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

It's very nice of you to respond, you should have the device by now as I sent it Monday. I would appreciate an immediate turnaround.  If the device is faulty would you please issue a refund as looking at community posts this is an ongoing issue with water usage. It's a lot of money for a device that's not fit for purpose.

Regards

I sent mine back to Fitbit's headquarters after the 3rd replacement and
asked someone to call me back. Never heard back from them. Never
acknowledged that I reached out to them. Purchase at your own risk.

You're joking  So you lost a couple of hundred pounds worth of watch  Thats disgusting . Didnt you persue it .I would have gone to head office and caused a stink 😩😩

Best Answer
That was the head office. I was told they have no quality control so the
only thing they can do is send another one which I dont want if you haven't
fixed the problem.

I think you'll find the water resistance of 50 meters refers to depth not length. 😊

My 5th fitbit versa just died last night, same pattern as the previous 4 (except the 1 where the face just peeled off in the water), flicker, reboot and eventually fade to black and I can see condensation in the pulse sensor on the back. - I should say fitbit have been amazing each time, no quibble on the warranty and quick to send a replacement every time but it's getting ridiculous now I'm actually embarrassed to contact customer service😂 I'll just cut my losses and get a good tracker for swimming.

I'm now absolutely certain it's not a tracker meant for swimming - I know, I know it should have been obvious after the 2nd time, I thought "maybe the first was faulty, maybe the second was a refurb" but 5 is pretty conclusive.

Interestingly the 5 I've had were the European NFC version with fitbit pay (i think all Europe versions are the same?) However I bought a US (Non NFC/Fitbitpay) version for my wife a few months before I got mine in London) 1 year and a half ago.

We both swim identical schedules 2/3 times a week 60-80 lengths at the local gym and the US version has never had a water problem or any problem.

I find it mighty odd that I've had the same problem 5 times and she hasn't had any issues with hers, similar usage, same swimming pool.

As many have mentioned I wanted the versa for tracking my swimming more than any other function and if it has a dedicated swimming exercise app I would expect it to manage a surface swim in a standard pool, not like I'm scuba diving.

If I got another on warranty I would have to take it off when I go swimming which means I need another sports tracker or smart watch just for swimming ...which makes no sense for me as my tracke stays on pretty much non stop except when it absolutely needs a charge, use it for sleep tracking, exercise, and message notification and music control.

Whether it's quality control or advertising fitbit is definitely taking the mickey with the water rating on the versa - super misleading.

If you are not going to be swimming with this you should be fine for showers and most else but if you are going to be in water regularly I don't think this is the tracker to get.

i only take off to charge.  I swim and shower with it all the time, several years now

Which strap do you use ?
I think the leather ones will not last getting wet for several year.

I aquajog about 1-3 times a week. I have had to have the pebble replaced 5 times in 10 months. When my warranty is up, I guess I'm switching to a Garmin watch.

I just got my versa 2 for Christmas. Hubby told me not to swim in it, but, since it was water resistant, decide to try it at the gym. Treadmill good, swam for 30 minutes in the pool and it was fine. tracked my swim and no problems. I did leave it in the locker while showering. Dried it off. I see no need to shower with it.

As I said, it breaks about every 2-2.5 months, so one time in the pool is
not the problem. It is consistent use. I do not wear it in the shower
either.

I'd say this is about my lifespan as well, 2 months apart with regular swimming weekly got through 5 in just over a year, gave up after the 5th, loved the watch but can't deal with the replacement cycle and the unreliability

Exactly! Me too!

So, how many times did you use it in a pool or water? I was in the water for 30 minutes. So far, it has worked fine. But I did dry it off after getting out of the pool. I bought it to track swims, but I'm not s professional swimmer so may not wear it all the time.

The canvas straps I purchased don’t fit, not from FitBit, so I’ve opted for the stitched leather strap, from FitBit so I won’t be swimming or getting it wet.

So you won't be swimming with it because the straps have to be silicone? Did the straps that came with it irritate your skin? I don't swim everyday. But I wanted something to track all activities,  even swimming.

Hi, I have not had my fitbit versa 2 for long. I swam at the gym for 30 minutes and had no problems. But wondering how accurate it is. It said I swam 2569 yards and 47 lengths. That was in 30 minutes non stop. What do you recommend to prevent damage in future swims?
