I have seen other topics, however, they are more talking about the Ionic. I'd like to see if anyone has actually gone swimming or showered (doubt the latter) with the Versa on and how did it fair?
I can see with the Ionic the states aren't super accurate however I am not too worried about the stats. I am more wondering about the device itself. Any issues or complications with it post swim or during the swim. I have only had mine a couple of days and have yet to get the guts to sink it.

Mine quit after the first swim so not all of them are water resistant.

Agree, being waterproof for swimming is the #1 reason for me making this purchase. It is advertised that you can swim...that is one of the marketing aspect for this watch. With all the complaints, I have decided not to get this watch. Just not worth the risk for me. I had enough problems with the charge 2, that product was a piece of crap. The Apple Watch has a waterproof mode you can out it in for open water. The mode shuts down the watch to seal it. Now, I would prefer not having to have to take an extra step, but it is what it is. Why can't there be a good fitness watch that can track ALL types of fitness? urgh
Thanks all!

I'm sorry about all the problems with this watch, I have the Versa and mine worked fine when I swam with it on. As far as I know there are three FitBits that are water proof up to 50 meters and they track your swim, the Versa, the Flex 2, and the Ionic.

Hope your new one behaves better. How much did Kohls charge you if you dont mind.
Update:
I do, just dry it well as well as your arm afterwards, don't get lotion on the back contacts either.

Hi everyone and thank you for your continuous feedback regarding the waterproof spec of the Fitbit Versa, this really helps us to improve the Fitbit experience overall.
As it was mentioned before, the Versa offer the quality for tracking your Swim exercise, hence is Swim-proof (up to 50 meters). Considering external factors for the best care of your Versa.
If for some reason your watch is not working as it should after a swim, make sure to see our Wear and Care page, and if the issue continue try to perform a restart: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
@baisdent I saw you had a concern regarding the active minutes vs the total time of your exercise. In this case note that active minutes is only the period of time where you able to maintain a high intensity over the total amount of time for your exercise. For more details please review this article: What are active minutes?
@Pastorleslie I was happy to reach out to our Support Team and they were able to confirm that they're currently working to reach a resolution with you. I recommend following up with them and then letting me know how it turns out.
See you all around and take care.

Does anyone know if the Fitbit Versa is ocean-proof? I’m going to the beach today and was wondering if the salt water would hurt my Versa? I’ve been too scared to shower or swim with it but I guess after reading your comments I’ll try it! 🤞

The Versa is swim proof. But I would be careful about going in the ocean with it on.

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great day.
I appreciate some of you have participated in this conversation sharing your experiences with the Fitbit Versa. Please note even though Fitbit Flex 2, Ionic and Versa are water resistant up to 50 meters, that doesn't mean they're water-proof. It’s important to thoroughly dry your elastomer band and watch and remove any debris from your device after wear in the water. Additionally, keep in mind that non-elastomer accessories should not be worn in water.
I hope this resolves your inquiries, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

@MarcoGFitbit as I’m sure you can tell from the previous posts, the Versa is not doing well being submerged in water. I would suggest not telling people to swim with it unless Fitbit is willing replace.
have a nice day!

Me too and then dry it thoroughly straight after swim - interesting that if you change your swim style mid length it starts to record it as a new length. As my Versa is only a few weeks old I thought it was faulty when it registered 37 lengths when I knew I’d only swam 32 - then realised I was turning over regularly to back stroke or side stroke! Solved it!

Mine worked (as did my Ionic) when I went into a wading pool with my 5 year old niece constantly splashing me...basically so much that it might as well have been submerged in the water! Both trackers worked well after that test....you wouldn't even know they got wet. For the Versa, there was one time where I completely submerged it in the water and it's still working.
For the Versa, if you choose to swim with it, you may want to switch to the rubber band as water could ruin the woven.
The water that I was in was fresh water. I wouldn't try the devices in salt water, as the salt could be corrosive and ruin the device.
