Issues with sleep, screen and stairs

It hasn't tracked my sleep since August 20th.I tried disabling the app and downloading it again and it still hasn't working. There was a couple days where it wouldn't even let my do anything on my watch screen. It would just show the time and not allow me to  check my heart rate or anything from the watch.

Also, I find my Versa isn't tracking stairs properly. I usually don't carry anything up the stairs. I make about 4 trips up and down the stairs before I even leave for work in the morning. Some days it says 1 set of stairs and other days it will say 9. Any advice?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @tiff.ns. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and sharing the issues you're experiencing with your Fitbit Versa. Thank you for your troubleshooting efforts. I recommend doing the following:

  1. Restart your device by following the steps from this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Try sleeping with the watch on your non-dominant hand if you haven't been doing it already.
  3. Confirm that the watch is snug on your wrist (the HR lights shouldn't be visible)
  4. Switch to a Fitbit clock face if you're using a third party clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

It is possible to manually log sleep to reflect the time slept. See instructions in this help article: How do I change my sleep history? You can find more information about tracking sleep here

Regarding your concern with stairs, your device uses both an accelerometer and altimeter to track floors, and registers a floor when detecting continuous motion combined with an elevation gain of about 10 feet. Because the device looks for continuous motion, pausing when you go up a flight of stairs can cause the device to not count the floor. Your device may count less floors or give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Not all flights are the same height or distance, so if the flight you climbed is less than 10 feet you may find that the device's floor count doesn't exactly match how many floors you climbed. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also affect floors tracking.
