I recently switched from Surge to Versa. I have no interest in using GPS but I keep being asked over and over to turn on location services. I have to continue clicking “no thanks” - at times every few seconds. I am using iPhone. How do I stop the incessant message?

I have had the Versa for a couple of months, and this annoying repetitive message just started recently, even though I did not change any settings. Beyond frustrating! Think this will be last straw with FitBit esp with Apple Watch 3 avail as cheap as Versa now

Fitbit lost me as a customer due to this issue. I could see displaying this popup once, but NOT repeatedly after the user says NO. If I knew that I would have to be continuously tracked by Fitbit in order to use the product, I would NEVER have purchased. Went back to Apple. $$$ savings is NOT worth the annoyance and privacy violations.

It’s about There is no bug, the software is doing exactly what each company wants it to do.
Google (FitBit is now Google) want access to locations services
--------------------------------
software is fine, it’s working exactly as intended by both companies. This is Apple vs Google, the alleged battle for privacy vs. access, and most importantly, control.
Google wants Apple iOS users to turn location services ON (which iOS users might be willing to do in order to end the annoying notifications generated by the FitBit (Google) App. Once enabled, the FitBit App stops annoying the Apple iOS users.
THEN, After 3 days, Apple iOS users begin receiving another annoying notification - this time from Apple - stating that FitBit (aka Google) has been unnecessarily using your locations services (aka violating your privacy) for the past 3 days, and goes on to encourage iOS users to disable (the sharing of location to a Google device).
Apple iOS users can resolve this ecosystem dispute by:

BTW you are not being asked to turn on location. Your being asked to turn on/enable location services,
Sorry @cross_platform but the Android OS needs location services enabled for the Fitbit to sync, also needed for Garmins to sync, and needed for setting up most BTLE smart devices lights, scales, tile, etc. This was added with a fix tothe BT security flaw in Android 6

This is annoyingly happening to me also. It is a recent problem so something must have changed. As much as I love my fitbit and especially the "friends" I compete with, I am close to not being a fitbit user at all.

Your right @KathrynKC Android version 6, we are at version 7, requires this when they closed a high security breach.
I believe it was iOS 10 that also added this requirement to a BTLE scan
