Large watch band for the Versa watch

I have been having all sorts of trouble getting the large band to fit on my Versa. I had to return the first Versa because neither my wife or I could get it to fit securely to the watch. We each spent about 45 minutes trying to get it to fit and we were unsuccessful. I was told by Fitbit to switch the pins which I did and it still didn't work. I exchanged it for another one. When I got this one home, my wife tried to attach the large band and she was unsuccessful. I tried for about a half an hour and finally got it attached! Unfortunately, when I was playing pickleball, I bumped into partner and she knocked it loose. Once again, I have tried a number of times reattaching my large band and have been unsuccessful. The weird thing is I was able to pop the small band right onto my Versa. I am wearing the small band now but it just barely fits. My Fitbit Blaze is dying on me so I decided to get the Versa. Over a 2 year period, I had to replace my Blaze band twice and it was very simple and easy to replace. First, I was wondering why Fitbit came up with this poor design. The Blaze watchband design was much better. Second, is anyone else having this problem? Third, can anyone give me advice on attaching the large band. Thanks.

Hello @PickleballBrian, its good to see you in the Fitbit Community!

With the all new Fitbit Versa, the design with the bands were created for the sole purpose to secure your Versa, so it doesn't fall off your wrist. There is a little technique to it. You will have to put the bands on at a 90 degree angle with the screen down.

Yeah the regular band is pretty bad. The special edition band doesn't have this problem but isn't available for purchase separately. So the only advice I can give you is to get a 3rd party band.

Hello @PickleballBrian

i have just purchased a new Versa which comes with one large and one small wristband. I only need small so would be happy to swap a large for small wristband if you have one?

Thanks for the offer, Mezscott1, but I could never get the large band on, so I was forced to wear my Versa with the small band. So far I have tried 2 large bands from fitbit and I was unable to get either of them attached. I doubt if your large band would work either. I believe fitbit made the large band maybe a millimeter wider than the small band, so you can get it to fit.

Unfortunately, I can't check it off as a solution. I tried working it in at 90 degrees, and many other angles and I just could not get the pin to fit in the slot. I have had to use the small band which barely fits on my wrist! I believe fitbit made have made the large a millimeter or so too wide. Thanks for your suggestion.

Right now I am using the small band which barely fits. I might try a 3rd party band, but after paying $200 for my Versa, fitbit should have sent me a band that fits into the watch!

I have a question. Do you feel the Versa is tracking your activity (especially steps) during pickleball play? If so, do you wear it on your paddle arm, or non-dominant wrist? I've got a problem where it doesn't seem to track my steps when playing.

That is a very good question. My versa has been tracking my steps when I play pickleball. I do put it on my non dominant wrist. My advice is to pick a watch face that you keep see your steps. I picked when that is digital and it gives my steps, miles, heartbeat and # of floors. That way you can check your steps before you start then check them after your game. Good luck!
