Last effort with Fitbit and it’s HR problems

This is officially my last attempt at contacting the people at Fitbit before I give up and part ways with my Fitbit.

A brief history:  Had a Versa 1, and loved it!  Broke it, and purchased a Versa 2, and hate it.  When I got it, the heart rate was wildly inaccurate at random times, reading very high.  I contacted Fitbit and they were good about it, and sent me a replacement.  While it’s better, the HR is still so inaccurate that it’s useless.

Here’s the problems I have, and I’m certain it’s the Versa 2 and it’s hardware/software.  Any time I’m doing something that creates movement, while sedentary, the HR skyrockets, up to 120-130, and stays there.  If I reset it, it’ll start back at the correct HR, but quickly go right back up if I’m still moving.  This happens mostly while driving, but also while rocking in my recliner, or even sitting still but kicking/bouncing my leg. Seeing I drive a lot for work, this is adding a preposterous amount of calories on my “calories burned”, which causes weight gain if I follow it.  Also, while running, especially interval runs where I sprint, the HR shoots up to 180, which is WAY to high.  Again, this causes the calories burned to artificially go up.  Clearly there’s a problem.

For the record, I’ve used my Fitbit and the app to record food and track everything.  I’m very meticulous about it, and check my Fitbit against my actual pulse, so I KNOW it’s the Fitbit.  I loved my Versa 1 so much that I constantly recommended it to people.  Now, because this Versa 2 is so bad, I will never recommend a Fitbit to anyone, and will in fact recommend against it, unless something gets resolved.  I’m at my wits end and am ready to take it off permanently, because it’s useless at this point.  I’m not confident enough to spend the money on a newer one either.

After the last update in November, my Versa 1 won't track my HR at ALL!  So it doesn't track my sleep or activity (because I'm NOT a runner, so have no "active zone")  They have rendered it useless!  I bought my husband a versa 2 (thinking it would be an upgrade) and because of the poor HR tracker, it won't track anything accurately either.  He just uses it for a watch.  #epicfailfitbit
