Recently I purchased a versa 2 online for $110 ( not too cheap either) in an excellent condition and the seller showed me the receipt of this versa purchase which had other goods on it as well. He delivered it to my home as I couldn't go to pickup due to Covid-19 restrictions on travel. Seller told me that he upgraded and this one is lying around so he decided to sell it. I do this & encourage others to do as well to reduce waste especially electronics goods. I put it on the charger and then saw a red cross with error of Data syns....... and let it charged fully before attempted to add to Fitbit App (removed my sense 1st of course) but it would fail at the pairing stage. Tried few time and then decided to get help and contacted online Support which couldn't help but logged request to higher lvl. Yesterday, to my surprise, I got the Email from Fitbit support that the seller has obtained this watch by fraudulent means and is locked now.

I can't make sense of it. Retailers lock away these devices safely and only available upon request at the point of purchase. Similarly online one has to pay by approved methods before devices are sent out.

This advertisement appeared on one of the quite reliable and quite popular sellers/buyers site.

Idea was to sell this Versa 2 after comparing stats on both Versa 2 and my sense (daughter handed over to me due to HR inaccuracies of it).

I'm not sure where to from here but just wanted to warn others to make sure device is up and running. I'm  not discourager the online selling/buying because it is a good civic duty to REDUCE WASTE.

Also we should encourage, like Samsung, that manufacturers offer to buy back of older devices to assist with this good cause.

Hi @m-umar  moved your post to the Other Versa Smartwatches forum area, as it was in the Sense area, but it actually about the Versa 2. The Warranty Information  states the warranty is for the original purchaser of the device. Only an authorized retailer has a warranty to begin with - many people use eBay, but it's not an authorized retailer. Fitbit used to believe people when they said there was a problem with a device and a new one was sent out. Over the years, people have been less than honest and Fitbit knows when a device was replaced, so a replacement is denied. As for recycling, I take mine to Best Buy where they keep a bin in the entryway for silicon bands and fitness trackers.
