Hi all, just finished the update to the new Firmware version within 10 minutes over WiFi without any problems. With this topic I describe what and how I did it. Maybr this is helpfull for other users with problems:
1. Before starting the update:
a. make sure your Versa is fully charged
b. make sure you're using a clock face developed by Fitbit itself
c. put your Versa in the charger and connect it to you PC
d. go to your Fitbit app and to WiFi settings
e. press to white WiFi icon right next to you network'sname and press it to connect to WiFi.
2. Starting the Update:
a. press starting updating
b. your Fitbit app will tell you that's busy installing the update
c. after a while, about 2 mins, you will see the Fitbit logo on your Versa
d. soon thereafter you will see on the left side of your Versa a blue banner from top to bottom that slowly getting larger
e, after a short while the entire display is filled with a green banner and your Fitbit app says: update finished, confirm it.
f. Now you're done and the update is installed.
Long story for a procedure of max 10 minutes. IMHO the best improvement is the Clock Face Switcher.

Since I'm not able yet to edit my post, BTW: I updated the Versa with the Fitbit app on a Oppo Reno 2 device, which is officially not in the list of supported devices!! regards kuzibri

Thanks @N8teGee , I cannot help myself, but when I see all the users with problems regarding the uodating to the new Firmware, whilst I done it within 10 minutes, I just feel the inner urge to help them when possible. Regards kuzibri

Will your instructions work updating with my compatible phone Samsung Galaxy S7? I don't have access to a pc?
My Versa is working perfectly and I don't want it to become unresponsive and useable since it's out of warranty.

Hi @SunsetRunner , when your mobile device is supported by Fitbit, this procedure should work for you. But, follow it by the letter. regards kuzibri
