I understand that there are a lot of neat features if I allow Full Time Location Access to "Always On" BUT I don't want those features. I don't need them. I just want to GPS tack my jog or walk during that exercise event. How do I permanently turn off the very annoying "Location Access & Bluetooth Sharing" reminder message that I receive every time I check the fitbit ap during my jog? Please help. The message reads : Location Access & Bluetooth Sharing - Set Allow Location Access to Always to track your exercise with GPS..etc.......

Hey I see this is still busted 2 years later. Fitbit is trash.

Fitbit only will tract your location during a gps tracked run, walk, hike, bike event. Of course during this time, the Fitbit app will need permission to access location. Now since the app UI is closed at this time, the fitbit background app will need location permission, which requires the always option.
For android phones, starting with Android v6 location access will be needed when doing a Bluetooth Low Energy search, this includes the BTLE of your tracker during a sync.

Source needed. The fitbit app can track your location 100% of the time when "always on" enabled. Do you have proof it doesn't?

No, it doesn't. The watch itself can track your location.

Only if the app is tracking your location, instead of the watch.

Yes the fitbit app needs permission, but that does not mean that it does track your position.
You haven't mentioned what phone you have, but for GPS location access is needed.
Also with android, android, not fitbit requires location access during the sync process. I understand Apple has also finally closed this vulnerability during a BTLE search.
Yes when you open the fitbit app, location must be enabled for the App to sync and get an update.

This may be true of Fitbit, but it is not necessary for any other App I use. E.g. Google Maps never asks for such permission, more comparably, perhaps, "TousAntiCovid" (French government Coid app) which signals any contact I might have with a known Covid-infected person. It requires that Bluetooth be running constantly, and confirms that it is when I open it. But the stupid Fitbit app still asks... Might be manageably annnoying if it only did so when I open the app, but it doesn't, it asks every time I ask to look at a Fitbit window. So I'm off on a walk, and I'd like to see how far Fitbit thinks I've walked. Check to allow Bluetooth etc. The phone rings, I answer. What was the distance? I touch on the Fitbit icon – Check to allow Bluetooth etc. I check Wikipedia for information about a site I've arrived at. Interesting. How is my heart rate? Check to allow Bluetooth etc. It is *maddening* Can maybe some one offer a hack to prevent this if Fitbit won't address the problem?

@bed we are not on the Versa 3 board.. This board is for the Versa 1, Versa lite, and Versa 2, all of which do not have built in GPS, therefore the phones GPS must be used.
I'm answering in response to the trqckers this board is about.
If you have a Charge 5, Sense, Versa 3, or ionic, not everything in this thread may pertain to you.
However if you have an android phone, with the fitbit app, as we all are aware of (Google it), Android requires location services active when an app does a BTLE search, which includes your watch. My understanding is that Apple also fixed the same back door exploit and requires the same.

I don't know if it matters, but my Fitbit is a Charge 4, and my iPhone is a late-type SE. I notice today that it is asking for an update (the phone). Generally I try to avoid updates, as they nearly always mess something up, but I accepted one quite recently, so I'm on IOS15.2. Also, I don't know what BTLE is. Location services appear to be on, and available to Fitbit, as is Bluetooth. But I still get the stupid question every time I ask to look at the Fitbit app, unless I actively switch it off, and thus restart it when I want to looks at it, which is almost as annoying as the 'Check to allow Fitbit – again!'
