Logging walk changed recorded steps!

I walked 6000+ steps with Versa in 1 hour. Total steps over 10000. When I saw the walk wasn’t automaticity logged I manually added it and it modified my steps taken!

Sometimes you have to sync a few times before Fitbit gives the actual reading. If you sync directly after a walk, it takes a bit of time before Fitbit gives the accurate reading. BTW, did you set your Fitbit App to continuous synchronizing?

All Day Sync is on, and I had the app open while I was walking. I also
have the exercise set to auto-recognize walks longer than 10 min. It
usually works.

1. How long does it take to auto recognize an exercise? (Maybe I didn't
wait long enough)

2. Why would manually logging an exercise change the number of steps
recorded?

I just swapped from a fitbit Charge 2 to Versa and they were both still
listed in the app. Not sure if that matters.

Regarding to your point 1: sometimes it recognized it almost immedialtely and sometimes it takes a few minutes. Once and a while you will have to even restart your Fitbit app before it recognizes it. That's my personal experience.
