I love the new Fitbit Versa.  It seems to be a good smartwatch.  But, I want to know if there are plans to develop a Fitbit smartwatch with all the features of the Versa plus the ability to answer and make calls with an Android smartphone via bluetooth.  I love the smartphone notifications ability with Versa.  I am looking for a Fitbit smartwatch with the capability to answer and make calls.  Please!!!  Right now, I wear my Fitbit on one arm and a smartwatch on the other one.  I really want one device on one arm.

Adding the ability to tak through the tracker will require additional hardware, a simple firmware update will not work.

Sorry man you are missing the point.

My garmin answers on the phone and uses the phone speakerphone. It's just
selecting the answer profile when calling the action.
So it doesn't require any hardware change. It's not even the versa
firmware. It's just a tweak on the phone app to call the answer action
with a more logical device / profile. I.e. answer on speaker vs. Answer on
handset.

Am I explaining that better?

The Garmin has no speaker. No mic. It just answers on the phone speaker.

My Versa, Versa Lite, Ionic, and Charge 3 will let me answer calls on the phone,  bit will not let me make a call from the wrist Unfortunately it will not turn on the speakerphone.

That is true,  @GinaV73 without a microphone or speaker in the Versa you will not me able to communicate with voice.

No when or comes to responding to notifications on iOS,  in their I know better wisdom of knowing what their user wants,  has blocked all 3rd pay apps from responding to notifications.

Therefore this feature OS not accessible to ios.

Sorry

Welcome to the forums @runningJadepup and @GinaV73 ! It's nice to see you around @Bb-Mitch and @Rich_Laue ! I am sorry for the delayed response.

@runningJadepup I understand your concern. As @Rich_Laue provided the information, I would like to confirm if you still have any questions about how to answer or reject phone calls, or was this the answer you were looking for?

@Bb-Mitch thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. I'm sorry for any disappointment and appreciate your feedback and suggestion. Our team is always working on improving our devices and user experiences, and your comments are always welcome.

@GinaV73 Congratulations on your new Fitbit Versa! I understand your concern and appreciate your feedback since this helps us to keep improving. As @Rich_Laue mentioned previously, if your device is paired to an iPhone or Android (8.0+) phone, Versa lets you accept or reject incoming phone calls. To accept a call, tap the green phone icon on your watch's screen. Note that you can't speak into the watch—accepting a phone call answers the call on your nearby phone. To reject a call, tap the red phone icon to send the caller to voicemail. For more information, please see the user manual

@Rich_Laue thank you for your help and support!

Hello;

I have a new Versa Special addition. When a call comes in my Versa will vibrate and show who is calling. I answer the call on the versa and speak they can hear me but I can't hear them, why?

Thanks

because the call is being handled by your phone and fitbit isnt smart
enough to answer the call in speakerphone mode. garmin dows so i know its
possible. the fitbit does not have a mic and speaker in it. hope that helps.

If your asking about talking to your watch while the phone is left in the pocket? Fitbit has not said anything.

Is the feature available to take calls on versa 2 with android?

You can remotely press answer or decline from the wrist, then pick up the phone.

They still haven't figured out how to make notification reliable... Answering calls results in the phone going into handset mode (not speakerphone) but I've heard some people say it will default to Bluetooth if connected when you answer. This could be one of the good things about Google buying them. Restoring the features they now made paid only and improving the darn software failures that have been around for years. I still have one. But I wish it was reliable as a Garmin (which also answers to speakerphone).  Just saying lol. All the best!

Fitbit has never been setup. Paid or free, to answer with the speakerphone.

The request for this feature barely has any life

As for Garmen and notifications, they are having the same issues with iOS as Fitbit is having.

in the future will we be able to make calls, and will there also be a microphone in the fitbit?

If you have a versa or Sense, you already have a Mic. If you have a Versa 3, versa 4, Sense or Sense 2, you have a speaker and can take calls from the wrist.

Will we be able to make a call, you know as much as us @briknows
