I love the new Fitbit Versa. It seems to be a good smartwatch. But, I want to know if there are plans to develop a Fitbit smartwatch with all the features of the Versa plus the ability to answer and make calls with an Android smartphone via bluetooth. I love the smartphone notifications ability with Versa. I am looking for a Fitbit smartwatch with the capability to answer and make calls. Please!!! Right now, I wear my Fitbit on one arm and a smartwatch on the other one. I really want one device on one arm.

I feel like Android is always the one to get left out. People always get stuff out for Apple but leave Android behind. I don't believe it's really fair since Android users mostly love Android better than iPhone

I believe if you have an android running on Oreo 8, you are able to take calls on your versa. I have an older android running on 7 so I can only reject calls. It would be nice to also take calls on my Versa even if my phone is running on an older software.

My phone is running Nugget .The Ionic had the latest firmware.
Through the wrist I can tell the phone to answer or reject calls .

As for replying to or marking a text message as read, this feature is only available on Android, sorry IOS .

I agree, if there were only phone answering capabilities such as on the apple watches. I am tempted to take my versa back due to this. The app can't be that complicated to design if Apple can do that.

We would not be looking at the app to redesign,. this woyld require a redesign of the Versa hardware to add a speaker and microphone.
I assume your a smart shopper and knew about this before purchasing.

Can only accept or decline calls from my versa not answer them

Without a microphone and speaker I would assume your correct.
Maybe the next model could answer through connected headphones. Fitbit headphones connect to both the tracker and the phone at the same time.. problem solved

Just by the cheapest AW you can, Apple says they designed the watch to only last three years, because by then the technology will be out of date and they want the user to upgrade. It's called .planned obsolescence, but because it is Apple nobody complains

Not knowing what phne that you have @Juliehockingfit I'm not so re if your u we plan be able to.
If your phone is compatable with this feature, you would press the Green icon that pops up on Versa.

I'm sorry @Juliehockingfit I found out that while the AW can answe the phone, Apple has disabled this feature for third parties. It is Apples way the current nvience users to stay warm there them.
This answer button only answers the call, you still need to talk through the phone since the Fitbit doesn't have a mic or speaker.

@Jdgive if your referring to taking calls on the watch, then the Fitbit would first need a speaker and a microphone installed.
However on Android the user is able to answer the call, but the phone is needed to do the actual communication.

I am trying to figure out if the Versa or any of the fitbit types allow IOS users to answer or make calls on the fitbit?

No @runningJadepup as mentioned in the accepted solution above You can only accept calls, but then need to pick up the phone, or reject calls.
This is also explained in the user manual. The big thing that prevents this is that the Versa and Versa light do not have a built in microphone or speaker.
