Manual log for exercise bike not taking distance into account

I use an exercise bike and log things manually but the spin option seems very off. For example, last night I rode 10 miles in 50 minutes. I weight 130 lbs, am 5’4” and when I entered that info, it says I only burned 137 calories. Spinning gave me the option to input the miles I did, and when I try to do this, it does not update the calorie count. I played around with it and When I manually log and say I did 50 minutes and 2 miles only, it still says 137 calories. When I tried 27 miles in 50 min, it says 137 miles. I’m at a loss! Can anyone give me any advice?

Hi @Psychesss  When you say you log manually, do you mean in the app? Or do you mean using the exercise shortcut on the Versa? If you use the exercise shorcut on the actual tracker the calorie count should be based on your heart rate. If you manually enter in the app then it will be based on population averages and not how hard you actually worked. I dont believe the app takes any notice of how far you went in the time, so it makes sense that the calorie burn doesnt change when the distance changed.

I did mean the app. It’s strange that it doesn’t take distance in relation to time into account because obviously if I am making more distance within an amount of time, it shows how fast I’m going/the effort I put in.

Yes I understand what you mean. I'd suggest you use the Sationary Bike exercise Shorcut (if it is not on your Versa you can add it from the app) to get both a record of your exercise and stats that relate to your heart rate.

Sadly stationary bike is not an option in the fit bit. People seem to have been complaining about this for years to no avail.

Sorry, my mistake. It is called spinning in the Fitbit exercise shortcuts. It will give you the same results though as calories burnt etc are guaged on your heart rate.
