Messages and phone calls not erasing

I have tried to clear the messages on my Versa and a missed call but they will not go away.  When I hit mark as read it tells me Action Failed. This notification has expired and is no longer valid.  When I hit clear -nothing happens.

 

What do i do?

Try swipeing off of screen
