More Canadian banks to be added to Fitbit pay?

Does the Fitbit team have intentions of adding more Canadian bank payment options to the Fitbit pay? Having only RBC as an option seems very limiting to the Canadian consumers, and it's the reason that I'm on the fence about buying the Versa compared to other NFC-capable smart watches. Specifically, I'm interested in seeing TD, Scotia, and CIBC added soon!

Forgot to mention I bought mine in April and we are in September. 4 months and it needs to be completely replaced.

Not to discourage anybody from buying one however I'm just giving my opinion on my situation and they were fast to reply and send a replacement to me so thatworked out well in that part. However I would highly recommend anybody purchasing a Fitbit versa to really decide if you need the NFC now and to carefully check if your bank is on the list. If it is not and you really need NFC now then don't purchase it. If you don't care about the NFC then go with the regular edition Fitbit Versa without NFC. When the Fitbit actually works it's actually a good product. I'm just upset I wasted the extra $100 on a item I cannot use.

I was disappointed to but recently Samsung Pay added my bank (tangerine) finally so that will be my solution and now I don't have to get the expensive model when I get my Versa.

How did you find out tangerine was added? And is it debit or credit card?

Would help if I read. Didn't see you said Samsung added your bank. I got hopeful for a second that fitbit actually did something.

You know, out of all the Canadian banks and credit card companies, not even a single one has been added in almost a year. They claim they are working on it but how, out of so many, not even one option has become available.

It's like me saying, well I'm working on losing 100 lbs, but I know that that will never happen. However I keep telling people I'm working on it 😉

How about all of the big 5 banks here including BMO?

BMO does have android pay. I use it all the time. I only got the nfc version for this purpose and now seeing it doesn't work for BMO is a major bummer.

I had a Charge 2 and decided to upgrade to the Versa special. Being in Canada and not have contracts with more banks is beyond ridiculous.  I’m in Qc with Desjardins and I also have a Visa so the NFC is useless.

I’ll be returning it and I’ll switch to Apple Watch, which is a shame....

That's extremely frustrating to hear.... I've been wanting to buy the new Charge 3 Special edition that comes with NFC, but luckily I happened to check out the supported banks prior to making my purchase.... until BMO is on the list I don't see the point of spending the extra money on a useless feature... I guess the only options at this point are to buy an android smart watch that supports Google Pay or change banks (and I won't be changing banks anytime in the foreseeable future so, sadly, that really only leaves me with one option... I'm still a little optimistic so will hold out for a few more months before looking elsewhere..... Com'on BMO!!!!!!!)

Very disappointed that Canadian banks aren’t interested in fitbit pay. I will be returning my Versa.

You really have to improve fitbit pay in Canada. The special edition of the Versanis sold for the fitbit pay option, but they’re not telling tou there’s about no participant bank here in Quebec. It is disappointing... You should reach out for BNC and Desjardins at least.

Thank you

Wondering if you've tried signing up with Stack? It looks like it's a pre-paid Mastercard - so theoretically you could transfer funds to it and use it as a Debit card until Fitbit gets their act together. I ended up buying the Fitbit Charge 3 SE on Amazon on sale and am just hoping that at least Capital One will be on board soon as they already are in the states. However, I have called Capital One twice to inquire and let me tell you, those conversations were like talking to a wall - worse. The fact that they don't even know what Fitbit Pay is nor understand it after it's been explained to them, does not bode well. I will try using Stack as a workaround and report back!

How can this be an "accepted solution", when you haven't actually done anything?

Yup.  I voted and waited for CIBC and nothing.  Sold my Versa, bought a Fossil Sport that comes with NFC and am currently using Google Pay on it without issue.  Fitbit doesn't seem to care about adding features or supporting countries like Canada.  Oh and Spotify loaded on my Fossil now too, as well as Google Play Music.  Not fricken Deezer.  Who uses Deezer?

How about BMO?

Yes - how about all the Chartered banks in Canada for starters?
