Motorola X4 Syncing with Versa Now Works

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got a Versa for Father's day (replaced my Charge 2) and synced it up to my trusty Samsung Note 4 with no problem.  I upgraded my phone to the Motorola X4 (Android 8.1) and the Versa would not sync.  After searching the forums, I found a solution posted by dswoff that fixed sync problems with the Pixel 2.  I tried the same steps (with a few tweaks) and it at least for now my Versa does sync.  Warning, this might break Bluetooth connectivity to other devices (if so you might try forgetting them and the reconnecting again)

  • Shutdown the Fitbit app if it is running
  • Turn on developer mode on your Pixel 2 device
  • To turn on developer mode go to settings - system - about phone: then tap on build number 7 times.
  • Go back to the system page and you should now see an option that says { } Developer options
  • Go to Developer options page and change the following option: Bluetooth AVRCP Version
  • The default option is set to AVRCP 1.4 CHANGE TO: AVRCP 1.6
  • Go to Bluetooth settings and tell your phone to forget the Versa
  • Power down your phone
  • Reboot your Versa (hold down both the left button and the bottom right button until you see the startup fitbit logo)
  • Power up your phone (wait for it to completely start up - make sure you have a WiFi connection and Bluetooth is running)
  • Start the Fitbit app, it should automatically establish a new Bluetooth connection and sync with the Versa.

Thanks for posting this.  I've read too many threads trying to get a different phone to work and haven't seen this fix yet.  How has your Versa been working with your X4?  How about notifications?

Blessings,
Glenn

My Motorola X4 is working like a champ with my Versa.  Notifications always worked for me.  The above fix is for syncing problems.  If you are having notification problems, this fix might help but might not.  I have noticed that recently that swiping and tapping on my Versa screen is getting more difficult to do.  I have to try multiple times to get the swipe to work.  I hope it doesn't get any worse.  I swim with it occasionally, I wonder if that has something to do with it.

I know this is a bit old but, do you know if this fix will help at all with any of the GPS issues? I know It probably wont because its a bluetooth fix. but I am still hopeful.
