Music Playback from Versa is Choppy to my Bluetooth Earbuds

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I loaded music onto my Versa and connected my Versa to my Samsung IconX 2018 bluetooth earbuds.  When I start playing my music on the Versa, it starts playing fine through both earbuds for about 2 seconds, then it becomes choppy as if it's constantly disconnecting and reconnecting from each earbud.  The music keeps playing, but it all choppy and basically unusable this way.

To troubleshoot, I thought maybe it's a compatibility problem with the Samsung IconX 2018 earbuds and Versa so I tried connecting the Versa to two other bluetooth speakers.  I tried an old Jambox, and that would not connect via bluetooth at all (maybe it's too old a speaker?).  I also tried connecting Versa to my Amazon Spot device and the pairing would not successfully complete.

Anyone else having issues playing music directly from the Versa to earbuds via bluetooth?  More specifically, is anyone successfully playing music from the Versa to your Samsung IconX 2018 earbuds?

Hi @BarbacoaUSA,

I haven't experienced this, but it has been reported a few times.  I'll save you the time searching them out. Basically, some community members have figured that bluetooth headsets sometimes have weak transmitters, and bluetooth requires a decent line-of-sight to function.  By placing the watch on the same side as the transmitter, it will strengthen the signal and reduce signal blockage by the body.

Give that a try, and let me know if that fixes it.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure it applies to my situation.  Firstly, the earbuds are not really transmitting much, their more receivers than anything else because I'm playing music stored on the Versa to the earbuds.

Secondly, BOTH earbuds are transceivers.  They work as a pair OR independently.  That is, I can put both in, or only one or the other and I always hear sound (even when the other one is "off" in it's case).  They are designed to work independently from each other, or to be used as a stereo pair.  So, I don't think it matters much on which side of the body the Versa sits.  In fact, when the Versa is on my left wrist, it's the left earbud that has the most stutter.  I did try to put the Versa more to the right side of my head and it made no difference to the sound.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Anyone have other ideas, or use these earbuds successfully with the Versa?

I should probably add that the earbuds work fine when listening to audio from my Samsung Note8 phone so I know they are not defective.

This response is for the same kind of issue (though not the same brand hardware).   I have a Versa that I can successfully pair and play music stored on the Versa to a set of BackBeatFit headphones.  But I get the same choppy, spitting result when pairing and playing stored Versa music to an Altec Lansing Mini LifeJacket 3 speaker.

Being able to play music from the Versa to a speaker was the main reason I bought this device to begin with.  Searching for answers 🙂

Good luck with yours.  Following for a solution.

I have the same issue. Tried several earbuds and all have lousy choppy music playback from Versa. They all operate flawlessly on other devices. Very disgusted.

Hope we get a solution or i have I have to dump the Versa.

This is happening to me too.  I also thought this was a cool feature, but it has to work properly to make it worth it.  I’ve been testing just sitting at home and I get through a couple of songs and then my Vera just totally turns off or does like a reset and I have to start all over again.  My current earbuds work just fine when playing music off of my iPhone6. :-(, so I don’t think my earbuds are the problem.  Also having heart rate reading problems during sweaty activity.  Not good at all!

I'm having the same issues with a choppy sound coming from my Samsung Icon x earbuds. I first thought it was a connectivity issues with the buds, but I paired the buds with my phone, no issues. The sound was great. I also paired a pair of enaofire buds to my Versa and had no issues.   The funny thing I have a friend who has a Versa and the same Samsung Icon x buds and she had no issues with a choppy sound.
