Music controls issue

Hey there! I have had the Versa for a few days now. Loving it so far! Execpt for one thing, lol. I have only noticed one issue that seems software related either with the Versa or my phone. I have an Essential Phone PH-1. My issue is that I have been trying to get the music controls working to control my phone playing Spotify, Google music, ect... My phone recognized the Versa right away and would connect to Versa classic, but the Versa would time out and say "no devices found". However it will say it is connected to my phones bluetooth address. When I go to the music controlson the Versa the volume buttons work but there are no skip, play, pause buttons. Just the " start playing music on your phone" message. I have tried alot of troubleshooting. What I could think of and things I found on forums. Tried a factory reset too. Nothing has helped. Any help would be much appreciated. Just kind of annoying that a feature that is supposed to work, doesn't.

I've noticed if I pause Spotify I can control the music from the

This didn't work. The only solutions that seem to make music control work
are restarting the watch, or playing a podcast and then switching to a
music app. Considering swapping for Garmin vivoavtive 3 music.

Ive had the same problem too.

I have an iPhone SE and a Galaxy S6. If I'm paired to the iPhone, I get music controls, but because the feature just isn't available I can't send canned replies on my Versa. But when I use the S6, since it's Android I can send canned replies, but then lose music controls, making it a mixed bag...

Same here with Pixel 3. It's a shame comparing to how well it works with my Pebble Time.
I've found a workaround in the Spotify HR app but it's laggy as hell and it's too much effort to launch it.

I think toggling between clock and phone a couple of times is the key.

I have no such opportunity, it's Versa Lite 🙂
Will update the comment.

I think I've found the problem (I think).

My versa seems to "forget" the connection settings if I open the music app on the watch.

Toggling between clock and phone on the dedicated music control screen (long press on back button) a couple of times will make it "remember" again.

Just avoid the dedicated music app on the watch and it seems to stay working.

Versa 2 and Note 10+ checking in here . . . same issues as others.

I can pair Versa (Classic) and get music controls working but it only works after that first pairing. Clicking on Versa (Classic) in my Bluetooth settings doesn't work, it won't connect. Changing the source from phone to internal and back doesn't help. Changing the Bluetooth settings on the watch from On/Off/Pair doesn't help. Rebooting the watch and the phone doesn't help. Launching Fitbit app and syncing doesn't work.

I have the same issue with the Versa I just bought. I can get it to connect, but as soon as my watch and phone get disconnected due to distance I have to go through a whole battle to get them to connect again. It's a shame because I love the watch, but if it keeps doing it I'm going to I have to return it.
