Music is listening distorted through Bluetooth headphones

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought the Versa today and I'm trying to get music onto it.

I managed to get the music transferred to the Versa easily but when I play it through my bluetooth headphones the quality is SHOCKING.

The songs are skipping and jumping and are very distorted.

Anybody got a fix for this or is it faulty?

Hey @frenchcr, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Robot Happy Which headphones brand are you using with your Fitbit Versa? While I get your answer, I will suggest you to try the following:

- Restart your Versa by following the instructions in this post

- Unpair and repair your headphones again

Let me know how it goes!

I have tried the unpair/pair headphones and I have tried to restart my fitbit but the music is still distorted and the voices all sound like girls.  I connected them to my phone and they are fine.  Is there any other options to try

Hey @Aunderwood81, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! If you already tried the instructions that I previously posted and the issue persists, please make sure that your watch is on the same side as the receiver on the headphones.

Give it a try and let me know if that works!

I have tried this and the voices still sounded like a kids bop CD.   But if I play Pandora it's ok once in awhile

I have been having the same problem! I have tried restarting the Fitbit, disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones and it has not worked at all. I have also made sure that the headphones are not paired to any other device. Please help! I would love to be able to use my Fitbit the way I'm a supposed to!

I have the same problem. I think it really matters that the headphones receiver is in the same side of the watch, but it is still the same for the first 10-15 min. It’s distorting  the music  for a good amount of time, which is terrible if you want to run for example. Half of my time is gone until it starts working properly. When my headphones are connected to my phone, I can go in other rooms of my apartment and the signal is still great, but I guess Versa’s Bluetooth is very weak if I have to care about which side of the headphones the receiver is placed on. This was the only reason to get Versa and it lost its sense after this problem. I could buy a small buy small MP3 player and a cheaper model, like Charge.

What brand of headphones did you buy out of curiosity? spent all afternoon uploading music to my versa to find it sounds horrendous... really jumpy... my headphones work fine on every other Bluetooth device I own

Just got my Versa for Christmas. I updated the OS to 3.0. I have  Pandora subscription so I download play lists to Versa.  Because I wear hearaids, I have a GN Bluetooth adapter for them. I paired my adapter to the Versa and went to the gym to exercise. I started Pandora and it started pausing and restarting every second. I placed the adapter next to the Versa and same problem. After 30 minutes, expecting it to resolve itself; it still had the problem. I gave up on the Versa and shifted to my phone Bluetooth. No problems. My opinion; Fitbit has a long way to go before it becomes a serious rival to other fitness/smart watches. Having a viable Bluetooth experience is a necessity for any fitness watch. Keep working on Fitbit.

Yes, I have had the same problem with distorted music playback on the Versa 2. The Bluetooth phones are not expensive (JBUDS Pro) but I did try connecting to other devices to try to isolate the problem. I connected to the PC OK and to my smart phone and the sound quality was acceptable, without any distortion or popping  sounds. Also, the voice coming from the watch is OK (Device connected message) so it must be the way Versa 2 is storing/replaying the music files. I suspect it is a software bug, maybe? Has anybody got any suggestions?

Update!

I have found that the Versa 2 will connect and play music without any distortion when paired to 3 different  types of Bose smart speakers, and also work well with the Jean Michell Jarre Aero Skull Bluetooth speaker. This function option was not what intended to use the Versa 2 for, but it's actually more useful around the house than the ability to use Bluetooth headphone when outside. I now think the problem is a compatibility problem with make of headphones I am using. Maybe the problem might get sorted out with a future firmware upgrade?
