Hi, I really like the FitBit Versa but, I am having some issues. Normally when I sync my versa it does not sync when I want it to. I have tried syncing it from a kindle fire, iPad, and ZTE phone, but it still will not work. My FitBit does require a manual update that I want to update my Versa and get to apps and clock faces on my Versa. I have tried syncing it many times but it has not worked. It will sync about once or twice a day, but I want it to connect to my device so I can install/unistall apps. Thanks in advance!

@SeleneD try restoring bluetooth connectivity before applying the update:

  1. Unpair (remove) Versa from your phone's bluetooth settings
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit mobile app
  3. Reboot your phone and install Fitbit mobile app. Do not pair in your phone's bluetooth settings. The trick here is to not pair in phone Bluetooth settings but rather let the Fitbit mobile app do that.
  4. Reboot your Versa by pressing and holding the left and bottom right buttons until Fitbit logo flashes
  5. Login to Fitbit mobile app
  6. Grant all permissions and sync
  7. Make sure that Sync Service notification for Fitbit mobile app has the priority set to at least HIGH (this can be done in the Android settings>Notifications>Fitbit)
  8. Make sure All-day sync, Always Connected are enabled in the Fitbit mobile app. Make sure to sync after enabling them
  9. Also, please make sure Fitbit mobile app is not being optimized by Android (Android settings>Battery>Optimization>Fitbit needs to be marked as not optimized)
  10. Apply updates

Additional tips if sync issues persist: If you have Wifi set up, go to Fitbit mobile app and remove it, then sync your Versa. I noticed that it causes issues for me. If you have other Bluetooth devices paired with your phone, forget them. One of them might be causing issues.

I assume that when the Fitbit mobile app is removed, all my data is deleted? Is there a way to store the data on the iPad? Also is there a way to view my data over a range of time?

@welshman No. Nothing is stored locally. Your data is stored on Fitbit servers so it gets downloaded each time you reinstall the app.

@welshman you're welcome! you can have your data on multiple devices as it is stored in the cloud. 😄
