My Versa 2 doesn't swipe on the screen "quick tips"

Hi 

I've just bought a versa 2 pebble and done a sync on my fitbit app  its all set ip OK and tracking steps etc.

but when I press the side to switch on the screen comes on with "quick tips " and a start box - 

but with this screen when I swipe down left right or up it doesn't change so I can't check the time or my steps etc 

does anyone know what's wrong
