My Versa 2 has been adding thousands of steps while sleeping.

My Fitbit Versa 2 has randomly been adding thousands of steps before I even wake up in the morning. 16,000+. Sometimes it does this then other days it does not. It doesn't matter if I'm wearing it on my wrist and just sleeping it still adds these steps. I've tried restarting my Fitbit several times and I'm at a lost. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Rachel816.

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Versa 2. Thank you for the information provided and for trying to resolve the issue before contacting us.

If you have set up MobileTrack to your Fitbit account, please remove it to see if the issue gets resolved. For instructions, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I remove a Fitbit device from my account?".

Whether this doesn't help, please be aware the dominant wrist setting decreases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any over counting of steps when your body is not moving. Your dominant hand is the one you use for writing and eating. You can find this setting if you go online to fitbit.com > click the gear icon in the upper right corner > Settings > Versa 2 > Wrist.

For instructions on how to negate the extra data please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".

Hope this helps.
