Good afternoon everyone... I own a Versa 2 and love it... But three times since the beginning of April my watch have clocked up 10 to 12. 000 steps 10pm at night within a 10minute period whilst I've been sitting down... This has really spoiled the enjoyment of the watch for me as I now keep checking that it hasn't happened again.. Here are, some screen shots of the events 🙄🙄 can anyone help... as to the cause and how I can sort this problem... Thank you in advance
Lyn. Mus. 😁😁

Yesterday was finally able to get an answer and fix the problem!!
Where the icon is on the top left of the screen click that then you need to unpair your phone. Mobile tracking I believe its called. Apparently the phone tracks steps at the same time as the versa and will glitch and log those extra steps randomly and excessively.
As for the extra steps. Make a note on the time and date, log an activity for that time as DRIVING and it will remove the steps from your count.
Hope this helped ^_^

Thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community, @LynMus.
I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Versa 2. Thanks for the information provided.
In this case, I would recommend restarting your watch by following these instructions.
The dominant wrist setting decreases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any over counting of steps when your body is not moving. Your dominant hand is the one you use for writing and eating. You can find this setting if you go online to fitbit.com > click the gear icon in the upper right corner > Settings > Versa 2 > Wrist.
You can find information about how accurate are Fitbit devices here.
For instructions on how to negate the extra data please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".
Hope this helps.

I have had the same problem. Tech support was able to temporarily fix the problem and remove my 40 000 extra steps but 1h later they returned in the same time slot. I will be contacting them again as this now seems to be a bigger issue.... versa 2 here

@LynMus, restarting your device turns it off and on without deleting any activity data synced to your Fitbit account.
