I did not get a new Fitbit this year because the makers of the device seem to care so little for the swimming community. For starters it can’t do simple math on distance in yards and number of laps. I always have to delete the workout and resented it with the correct distance. Did not have to do that with the Versa 1. Also, after looking up several swimmer oriented websites they all indicate a person of my size burns far more calories in a 60 lap workout than the Fitbit calculates. Additionally, the calorie increments are very large. It indicates about 360 calories for 60 laps or 499 for 65. No in between. Finally, the availability of tech support has gone way downhill. It was very hard and took several tries just to post this. All I wanted to do was email them my feedback in hopes they would look into this and work to improve on it. I bought an Apple Watch this year instead but still wear the Fitbit because the font on the Fitbit is large enough for me to glimpse the elapsed time on each turn. Not so with the Apple Watch. So they have gotten something right that Apple has not.
