My Versa 2 is not tracking sleep stages

I've had the new fitbit versa for a little over 2 weeks now. On some nights the slerp tracker tracks well and shows the REM sleep, deep sleep and sleep score. However lately it just shows how many hours I've been asleep and doesn't give me any further information. I have noticed this since I changed my settings to 'sleep mode on' and as this stops the watch from lighting up every time I move in my sleep. It's been 2 nights now with no proper sleep information. Any thoughts?

If you haven't done it already, please make sure that you are following our recommendations on this article to track sleep stages.

My Versa 2 tracked sleep stages fine for months,  but for the past 2 weeks it is only reporting sleep duration,  no sleep stage info. I have turned it off and on several times as you suggest,  but this had not fixed the problem.  Any other suggestions?

I regret to hear that you are having difficulties to register your sleep stages. Thank you for following our troubleshooting steps.

 

Our team is currently releasing a new version of the Fitbit app. If you haven't received the notification to update, you should see it soon.

 

In the meantime, you can set up your Versa 2 as a replacement watch by doing the following:

 

  1. Tap the Today tab and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Set Up a Device.
  3. Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

Mine also isn't recording rem sleep. It shows the restless, awake and sleep but no REM SLEEP. I only had the watch for 2 days mine is the VERSA 2.

I am having issues with the sleep tracking. It's been about a week. I also noticed that my watch hasn't synced with my phone in about a week too. I have restarted my watch and checked for updates. But nothing works
