Fitbit says it needs it needs internet access to be granted but on the app on my phone I do have internet. Have tried to press the button on left and lower right if the device

This message might be related to a third party app/clock face. I would recommend switching to a clock face developed by Fitbit. If the message disappears you can then contact the developer for information about their clock face. In the app description you can find details to contact the app developer.
