My Versa 3 will not take the update, I just get a big red X

My device a Versa 3 will not update I just get a big red X after a few seconds and then my phone says it has been updated and the the message comes back saying an update is needed

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Nazel. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 will not update and will be glad to assist.

If you haven't done so, try the following troubleshooting: 

- Remove the watch from Bluetooth 
- Turn off other Bluetooth connections 
- Confirm the Fitbit app is up-to-date 
- Restart the phone 
- Set it up as a new device
