My Versa back button is not turning my device on

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Yesterday my Vera battery was down to 7% and turned off.  I put it in the charger overnight and this morning it still would not turn on.  Using the back button did not work.  I had to press and hold all 3 buttons to rest it and then it came on.  So I tested the turn off through setting and then tried to turn it back on with the back button again and it did not work again.  I had to use the rest feature to turn it in again.  Is there something in the last update that caused this or is there something wrong with my device and should be replaced.  I am still within my 1 year and don’t want to take a chance of going out of warranty and then have to buy a new one.

Hi @SunsetRunner, due to the recent events, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

I'm sorry to hear that your Fitbit Versa is not turning on when pressing the button. I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue before contacting our forums.

I would like to follow up and would like to know if the issue persists or if it got resolved. In the meantime, try a factory reset. To do so on your device, follow the steps below:

  1. Hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup. Set up your watch as a new device.

Finally, monitor your Versa and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.
