My Versa doesn't connect to my Air Pods

I tried to connect my new Air Pods to my Fitbit Versa 2 and I doesn't work? I had the suspicion that apple doesn't work with Fitbit but I know of someone who uses their Air Pods with the same Fitbit. 
It doesn't say "Connection failed" or anything it just tries and tries and tries to connect and doesn't finish.


I really hope someone can tell me what the problem is or what I can do to solve it.
