My Versa just lost all applications - black screen, app title, won't run

My Versa stopped functioning correctly today. I was wearing it, 60% charged battery, ran a sync (which run sporadically at times), and decided to reboot to see if that would clear the sync lag.

I pulled a number of apps to try to minimize accidental battery drain, and I can sweep to access both pages of app titles, and back to the clock. I can access all my stats when I swipe up, and then my heart rate when I swipe up again. Navigation between panels is functioning correctly.

I swiped left, to access the apps screen, and the 4 app titles on the first app 'page' are shown, but the icons are gone. Settings is one of those apps, and if I press the place where the icon should be, the screen blanks for a second, theres' a momentary vibration, the title 'settings' is shown, and then the screen switches back to that black screen with the app titles.

I tried to power down, to charge it all the way, to do a 3-button reset, which did nothing, and it's still not working.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks for any info anyone can share on this.

Cheers,

John

@kickaha You mention factory reset (3-button reset) didn't do anything. Are you sure the factory reset was successful? Did you feel strong vibration while performing factory reset?

  1. Press and hold all 3 buttons
  2. After Fitbit logo disappears, release the bottom right button
  3. Wait until you feel strong vibration and release the other buttons.

You may need to attempt the reset a few times to find the optimal times. Trying holding the buttons longer, as long as it's needed for the vibration to appear.

Hi.

After 10 times over 12 hours, the 3-button factory reset finally worked, eliminating the need for a 1-finger reset to the watch.Smiley Happy

It may be that the upgrade to *.19 caused a glitch. I'm now at the new firmware, and the Versa if functioning properly.

I'd be interested if anyone hits the same symptom during this upgrade....

Thanks for your reply.

Cheers,

John

@kickaha You're probably right. That's exactly the reason why the upgrade is not being rolled out to everyone yet. I'm glad your tracker is back to normal!
