My Versa only works when it is plugged into the charging cable

My versa stopped working. When I put it on the charger it works. When I take it off the charger it does not work.

That’s very strange!! Bought my Versa in Uk. Tried to reach the seller without success. So I contacted Fitbit customer service!! They offered a replacement for my Versa or 50% off a newer version!! I’ve taken the second offer and bought Versa 2 special edition for half price!!

Here in the USA, the fitbit comes with a one year warranty.  Apparently in some places, you could buy an extended warranty that would give you two years.  It wasn't offered to me.  I was offered the same deal through the first year.  That is why I was strongly recommending that customer service be called immediately.

Having the same issue, watch will not stay on after it is removed from the charger. On the charger it reports 100% change. Hard and software reset doesn't fix it. The watch is just out of warranty too. This definitely seems to a defect Versa watches.

While charging, my Fitbit versa works. Once I take it off, I have the same issue. Black screen. It will not reboot. I’ve been trying to charge it for over a day. Been switching out my usb plug ins, and all. Still can’t get it to work correctly. Sometimes it says 76%, 86%, 0%, or 100%. Either way once removed from charging port it becomes useless.

this is a problem with versa fitbit watches. It doesn't matter if it's a
versa or a versa 2, they quit working off the charger. Mine charges to 100%
but when I take it off the charger it goes blank and does not respond. If
your within warranty you might get a new one shipped to you, but if your
out of warranty, tuff luck. I love the watch just wish they would come
clean and replace watches that have this problem.

Update: I have contacted Fitbit customer service and explained them that my Versa works only in the charging cradle and once it is out of the cradle, it turns off instantly. I also explained them that I went through all possible troubleshooting steps including two buttons reset and the factory reset and it seems that the battery is defective. They asked few questions and offered me either a replacement with the same model (most likely refurbished) or 50% off for a new model. I have selected 50% off for a new model and picked Charge-3 which I will give to my wife as a gift.

How do you communicate directly with Fitbit because I dont seem to find
their direct contact. I've had to contact the online store I bought from to
inform them of the defect.

Hi I’m having the exact same problem we have even tried a factory reset and now it won’t turn on at all the charger worked as it was charging it fully.

I used a soft toothbrush to clean the 4 small gold dots on the back of the watch. I think they get dirty from skin shedding or dirt. So my Versa is working fine after cleaning the dots.

Yes never got it to work again sorry I ended up getting an android watch I had no warranty left so fitbit would only offer 25 percent off Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Thank you I will try it. But it is charging to 100 so there is no problem
there just that when I take it off it turns off and I can’t turn it on.

Hey I know this post is approx. two years old but i am having the same issues as this. My Versa turns on when i put it on the charger and then it turns off when i take it off. I have tried resetting and all but it does not work. Please advise @HeydyF
