My fitbit seems to be counting steps when I am sitting. How do I make it less sensitive so it doesn't track every time I move my arm?

How many extra steps are you talking about? If it is a couple of hundred over a day that is pretty reasonable and not really significant over a day,  but if it is thousands then that is too many. You could try restarting your tracker several times in case it is malfunctioning. The other thing you can do to tweak the step numbers is wear it on your non dominant wrist but record in the app that it is on your dominant (the app knows if it is on your dominant hand it will get a lot of extra steps so damps down the recognition)

Restart your tracker
