My Versa stopped working after washing dishes

My versa screen appears to have water damage after washing dishes. My versa says it's resistant  up to 50 meters. I washed dishes yesterday today the screen went black.

Same thing happened to me!

I just made a post about it. I tried everything - the fitbit went from being unresponsive, to being full on black and dead. There is no way to fix it at this point. If yours is within the one year warranty they can replace it for you.

I am very frustrated with Fitbit because this is a recurrent issue with many users yet they are not replacing your fitbit unless its within a year. This is an issue on their end, and they should be assisting their loyal customers to make sure they are satisfied.

Hi there, @Mikek36. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Please note that all Fitbit trackers and smartwatches are water-resistant, which means they're rainproof and splash-proof and can stand up to even the sweatiest workout. You can swim or shower with certain Fitbit devices. Fitbit Versa series are swim proof up to 50 meters in a lake, pool, or ocean.

Does your Versa vibrates when you connect it to the charger? Do you still see the green lights flashing on the back? If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Good day,
I am Esmeralda from South Africa
I bought my Fitbit Versa about a year and a half ago and no all of a sudden the battery startes draing faster and this morning it was completely dead. I placed it on charge, the logo comes on and then it vibrates and goes dead again. This happens a few times and then it will show that it is 100% charged. As soon as I take it off the charging dock, it's dead again. Nothing works, the screen is blank and the little green light at the back does not flicker at all. I like my fitbit, but if this is not something that can be fixed, I will start looking at other brands.
