My experience with Versa 3 and Customer Service

All of a sudden my Versa3 won't charge due to Battery Empty, watch is frozen, can't do anything. I purchased the watch through Amazon.  This is what Fitbit Support says:   We only have some authorized retailers inside amazon, the store where you purchased your Fitbit from, unfortunately, is not one of them, that's the reason why your Fitbit device is not covered under our warranty.  There was no mention of this on Amazon's website.  Very disappointment with Fitbit,  will not purchased another Fitbit watch, especially after reading numerous complaints.  Amazon will allow me to return the item with a restocking fee, it's better than losing the entire amount.

Hi there, @lbigirl. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3. We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments with regards to our products and services.

Regarding your inquiry about Amazon, please keep in mind that many things are sold by Amazon, but more than half of the stuff is sold by third party sellers. We provide support for your Fitbit device, but when it comes to reviewing your warranty, we provide a warranty if the Fitbit device was sold by Amazon or by Heartrate Monitors as  the warranty covers Fitbit products purchased directly from fitbit.com or an authorized retailer. We advise contacting the seller from whom you purchased the product for further assistance.

For more information about our warranty, see fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty or please feel free to contact our Support Team back so they can clarify any doubt.

Kindly verify, if I purchase a Fitbit from Amazon, the seller must be Amazon or Heartrate Monitors in order for Fitbit to support the warranty?  Shouldn't Fitbit want Amazon to require their third party sellers to issue a statement on the website that the warranty would not be supported by the manufacturer.   As a consumer I would expect the manufacturer to support their warranty where ever the item was purchased.  Why won't Fitbit support a warranty even if it was sold through a 3rd party on Amazon?    Thank You
