My phone can’t find my Versa 2

My Versa 2; which is supposed to be water resistant, has been in rice all morning. It got slightly wet yesterday with squirt guns. My phone app can’t even ‘find’ it when I have phone & watch  next to each other.  Looking at this community page, seems like others are having similar issues??
