NEW versa already replaced still not counting steps right

Bought my first Fitbit versa and had to call support because it is counting steps when I haven’t gone anywhere.  So they sent me a “new” one, and already this one is doing the same!  Says I have walked 16,000 steps before leaving the bed.  My watch wasn’t on the charger.  It was sitting on the nightstand.  It will do that on or off the charger.  Wonder if I can still return it for refund???

You might try setting in a different location overnight.

Odd that two would count ghost steps, most folks struggle to earn every one - takes a bit of a vibration to get those steps. Curious, do you notice the green leds flashing all night to show it as active?

(should be dark when idle)

Thank you for your suggestions.  I’m not sure if the lights were flashing?  Can’t remember now, but my issue has been resolved thankfully!
