Negative numbers for steps and calories?

Just today, my Versa started showing negative numbers for steps and calories on the clock face, despite my phone app showing what appear to be accurate positive numbers for those two values.  I have run "sync" a number of times and shut down and restarted my Fitbit twice now, but it still shows negative numbers for steps and calories.  How do I fix this?

Accidentally discovered how to fix the problem.  The display of the number of steps and calories on the clock face changes when you hold your finger on that part of the clock face for a second or two.  You can toggle from a negative number that apparently depicts how far below your daily goal you are, no numbers or blank, and positive numbers showing the number of steps and calories.
