Hello,
I purchased a Versa 2 this week for my wife, and during the setup process today, the Versa 2 would consistently fail during the WiFi firmware update at 5% (three consecutive red x's then asked me to switch to bluetooth). I've tried the suggested tips found on this forum. Versa 2 was charging, in same room as router with phone right next to it, same thing would happen. I tried to update via bluetooth and that worked (after about 2 hours) but then when attempting to use connected GPS to her phone, the Versa 2 would hang on "connecting" and never actually connect. I read that a hard reset should be performed, remove device from app, and start over. I'm now back to the point where the Versa 2 hangs during the 5% mark of the wifi firmware update. Is this likely a defective unit? Please advise.

I performed a hard reset and went through the setup process again. Still needed to update via Bluetooth as WiFi still failed at 5%, but it now connects to her phones GPS which is good. Can anyone at Fitbit comment on why the WiFi update might fail consistently after 5%? This is with the Versa 2 charging and in the same room as the router it’s connected to. These things appear to be extremely temperamental. I have an Ionic that sometimes just doesn’t feel like connecting to GPS. Still, $150 on a buggy fitness watch beats $600 on a buggy fitness watch with a piece of fruit on it.
