New Versa 2 is not tracking my sleep data

I received my new versa 2 yesterday and wore it to bed last night. Although it has logged the length of my sleep, it hasn’t analysed it or given it a sleep score. My old charge 2 always logged my sleep with no problems. The Versa 2 was was fully charged and I am a premium user.. also I had it in sleep mode, does this affect the sleep logging?

Hi there @Lockett28, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the inconvenience with your new Versa 2.

Please note what @Heathen_Beauty has mentioned is correct. Since you just bought the Versa 2, give the RHR a few days to settle down. It does some calculations, looking at heart rate throughout the day and while you are sleeping, so it might just not have enough data to give a reasonable value yet.

In addition to that, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope that helps.

I noticed this too the first night that I wore it. Turns out it may not analyze your first night. No idea why. But it has not had a problem since (I have had mine for a week as of noon today).

Hello,

I have had my versa 2 for 4 nights now and every other night I don't get proper data.

First and second night was brilliant, got my full analysis with sleep score, stages, heart rates etc but second and fourth night it was very basic, just the length and no stages...it looks exactly the same as my fitbit inspire sleep tracking chart, very basic.

I haven't done anything differently on those nights...I have worn the watch exactly the same way and used the begin sleep now option in the app.

I have also updated the firtbit app but no difference...what am I doing wrong?

Hi there, @Mannukas. Welcome on board. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 2.

Please note that since you have been using the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app, you won't receive sleep stages.

If you haven't done so yet, I'd recommend taking a look at this post

Hope that helps.

Hello,

But I have received the sleep stages with using the begin sleep now option on the app...I said that earlier as well. Nights one and three I got the full sleep analysis with stages and nights two and four it was very basic...just the length of sleep and time spent awake, that's it. I didn't do anything differently on those four nights.

I didn't use the begin sleep now option in the app last night and my versa didn't detect I was sleeping at all. I made sure that I followed all the instructions above and absolutely nothing.
