New Versa 2, unable to charge

Versa 2 arrived.. yay... battery is low.. put it into charger, plugged into computer, nothing happens. Is it supposed to say it is charging?

I moved the unit over to my hub to plug in, same thing. Doesn't seem to know it is getting power.

Pins are aligned. Is there some trick to this? I can turn it on, it says to connect to my cell phone, so I installed the fitbit app, and enabled bluetooth, and it found Versa 2, tried to link the two, it says Fitbit rejected the connection. I am thinking because the battery is nearly dead. Do I need to send this back?

Reset seems to have resolved it. It doesn't show charging status until after is is connected to cell phone app, and I had to hold button down for 10 seconds first to reset it. Now when I plug it into charger it shows a percentage. Hopefully it will go up.

@Bugzy11, welcome to our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry about the charging issues that your Versa 2 was experiencing.

However, I'm so glad to hear that you managed to get the issue resolved. I would like to follow up and would like to know if your Versa took a charge completely. It usually takes 2-3 hours in order to get charged.

Looking forward to your response.

I had a compounding issue related to charging, where I ordered a charger to put on my nightstand in addition to the one provided and it turned out to be for Versa, not for Versa 2, so there was some confusion related to that, along with the lack of charge reporting when the unit is not paired with a device yet. It seems to charge fine though, and once paired it reports the amount of charge and everything is good. I have returned to other charger and ordered one for Versa 2, so that should be good as well.

Thanks for following up.

I had this problem with my versa 2 on the second charge. After a while, I realized it was because I put the the watch, in the charger, the wrong way round. For example, the yellow line of dots on the charger have to match with the yellow line of dots on the watch. I felt like a right idiot after 🤦‍:male_sign:
