i brought a versa 2 around 1hr ago when i took it out of the box and clicked the on button the fitbit log popped up and a few words in a forigne language and then it went black, i have put it on change been on for around 30 mins now so i assume it has at least a few % of life in it at least enough to press the on button and get a reaction but still not even a flash of life is this normal should i be more patient or take it down and get a replacement?
nb: we have 2 other fitbit devices in my house an inspire and a charge 2 both started straight away allowing for set up and still show life during charge

Please try the troubleshooting steps that are listed in this help article. After this, charge your watch for 2-3 hours and see if it turns on.
