Hello @Sonti , may we have a little more information please?

What type of phone do you have?

Is the problem that you ate unable to setup the Versa/Versa Lite to your Fitbit account?

Or is the Versa/Versa lite already setup and will not sync?

Or does the Versa/Versa Lite sync but you do not get notifications?

Maybe everything above works fine but the GPS does not work while out walking?

The above all relate to connection issues with the phone,  connection to wifi is unrelated and have moved this into its own thread.

Hello @Sonti I'm not sure if it is possible to connect to the phones hotspot. I find that the phone needs to be connected to the wifi that the tracker is going to be setup to.

Steps I would try.

Plug the Versa into its charger and make sure it is charging.

Turn the Hot Spot on then try setting up Wifi, putting in your phone's hotspot credentials. See FAQ question 1 to check if your phone's hotspot is configured properly. 5 mhz will not work.

If the above fails try the following steps, we are going to use your phone for the wifi connection and use a second phone to do the  wifi setup on the Versa.

  • Plug the Versa into your phones hotspot.
  • Kill your Fitbit app through the phone's settings,  it is not enough to swipe app from the screen.
  • Turn your phones bluetooth off
  • Borrow a friends/family members phone
  • Either log off of their Fitbit account or install the Fitbit app.
  • Connect this borrowed phone to your phones hotspot.
  • Log into your fitbit account through the fitbit app on the borrowed phone.
  • Now do the wifi setup from the borrowed phone.
  • Once the wifi is setup,  log out, and go into this phones bluetooth and remove your Versa from the trusted BT devices.

Make sure your phone's hotspot is on when, during a charging cycle and you want to update music or have the Versa check for app updates.

Please remember that the only thing that can not be done through your phones bluetooth is music transfer, therefore or your not interested in loading music onto the Versa their is no need to setup wifi.

Now you can open your phone's Fitbit app and turn on Bluetooth.
