New Versa reads Fat Burn zone all the time, even while at rest - want to return

I just got this three days ago and it has been reading fat burn at minimum all the time, even at rest and even while sleeping, and logging cardio and peak zone minutes as well when not exercising.  I contacted support and they said it's a known issue but offered no additional information.  I don't know what to do other than return it.  anyone else have this issue? not sure what to do.

@MarcyV  You do have a higher resting heart rate that will fall within the standard zone for Fat Burning.  Your heart rate Zones are based on your age and gender.  That said, you can go in and modify the Heart Rate Zone settings.  In your Fitbit mobile app go to the Account icon in the corner.  Under Account settings, scroll down to Heart Rate Zones and touch that.  You can modify the settings so that your resting rate reflects what you experience.  Do be careful not to set your ranges too high.  Consult with your physician to see what are good target heart rate zones for you.  This article has some interesting and insightful information regarding heart rate and resting heart rate.

@MarcyV Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear about your increased heart rate on your Versa. Try cleaning the back of your Versa with cotton and rubbing alcohol. After this restart it and follow these instructions to improve the heart rate reading.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you.  I will try that and let you know. What should the resting heart rate level be and when should switch to fat burn?

I followed all instructions and it still reads fat burn while at rest.  I am not sure the heart rate is too high, rather it should not be reading fat burn when at rest.  My heart rate is on the high side, 89 - 95 at rest but that is my rest rate and should not read fat burn.

Well this is disappointing.  I tried on my husband's charge 2 and it showed my heart rate around 75 - 80. much lower that the versa.  sigh. I guess my heart rate is not as high as I thought. I've tried all the tips and suggestions.I don't know what to do.

@MarcyV. First you can measure your pulse (I like to do it at my neck) and compare it to the reading from my Fitbit device. That let's me know whether the reading from the device is correct or not.  You can do it while wearing one device and then switch devices and measure again.

Just to check, you do wear your Versa to sleep, yes? The Versa needs both daytime readings and sleeping readings of heart rate to more accurately establish your resting heart rate.

Hi!  Well, I should have thought of that in the first place.  I guess it is accurate.  perhaps my husbands older Charge 2 is not accurate.  I tried taking my pulse on my wrist and neck, I tried 60 seconds, 30 seconds x 2 and 15 seconds X 4 and they all came out to about 95 which is where the versa is reading right now.  Sorry if I'm wasting your time!  I think I will though adjust the rest zone though so it is not reading it as fat burn so it does not inaccurately record exercise. I do really appreciate your help!! I really do like the versa and I want it to be accurate.  Yes, I do wear to bed as well.

Thanks!
