New Versa setup failing and now watch won't even turn on

My girlfriend purchased a new FitBit Versa about a week ago. She set it up on her account without issue, but decided she didn't like it and gave it to me. 

 

We unpaired it from her account and attempted to set it up on mine. The initial setup/update failed and now the FitBit will not even turn on other than flashing the FitBit logo and then immediately turning off. It's a week old so there's no damage or wear and tear it would have endured so it doesn't make sense that it would just stop working

What phone are you trying to set it up on?
