I'm a returning fitbit user and I just got the Versa for Christmas.
I opened it and got it up and running on the 25th and I have to sync using my computer because my phone is not a supported device.
I have had nothing but trouble. At first my today app would only show the main three stats, then on one sync it expanded to show weight, water, etc., and then on next sync they disappeared again.
Syncing itself seems to be extremely buggy. I cannot get it to sync currently even after unpairing and repairing. It says it's connected but the last sync date shows as the 27th.
Loading music was a goose-chase, though I finally figured that out and got it done.
I've been perusing the boards and trying to DIY, got tired of that and tried to use the support chat function, which seemed to go nowhere (no chat window ever opened). So now, I'm pretty much at a point of feeling like this is an awful lot of work and frustration for the first 4 days of use. It doesn't seem like it should be this hard....
If the answer is that I'm going to have to guess and check by going through a litany of unpair-repair, power down watch/computer and restarts, or do a factory reset to fix the issues every time it is not behaving as it should...I'm not sure this is the product for me.
The Charge HR seemed to sync so effortlessly....what's the deal?
Sincerely,
Frustrated Fitbit User

Too many issues to address, so I'll go with one - the Today app.
Scroll to the very bottom of 'Today' to 'Settings'. There it lists several fields you can show in 'Today'; you can select up to 7. I think this was an addition in the recent firmware update; that might have changed what was showing.

Thanks, JohnnyRow, but that's not the issue. When I select settings, only the three core stats are shown. The others don't even appear as options to select.
This seems to be a known issue after the latest update, but nobody seems to have an answer yet other than a handful of lucky folks who seemed to have theirs reappear. This is as far as I can tell from reading other users posts with same issue.

Update to my above post:
I just recently saw on another thread that I had to have my watch docked in order to use Wifi, so I docked and did a wifi connection and that allowed it to sync and now my Today app is showing all 7 stats again rather than three. This makes sense to me, as the last time I used the Wifi to download my music on to the versa seemed to be when the other 7 stats appeared and then when I synced using Bluetooth, they disappeared.
So, long and short of it seems to be that the Bluetooth connection is spotty to update, and when it does, it does not update properly and drops the other stats from my versa watch display. This seems to be contrary to what other posters were saying (that the full stats would only show when using Bluetooth connection).
I guess my modified question is: is there any fix for the Bluetooth syncing option or am I always going to have to dock and use wifi to get a reliable update?
Does there seem to be any correlation in the issues with the new update between users who bought the special edition (with fitbit pay) vs. normal versa users? For reference, I have the standard versa with no pay option.
Any help on the Bluetooth syncing issue, please? 🙂

Firmware updates to the tracker itself are rare, not often enough for you to be concerned about having to use wifi unless wifi is just not available. There are more frequent updates to the app, but they download from the Google Play store to your phone just like any other app update, and take much less than firmware updates to the tracker.

*Clarification* to the below! When I say update - I mean that I cannot sync reliably and so my stats on my dashboard on the computer and my versa do not match. This may be why we're crossing wires! Bluetooth not syncing is still my main issue.
I mean no offense JohnnyRow - but I feel like you are not fully reading or understanding my posts, and therefore, your replies are offpoint.
I'm not worried about future wifi updates, I'm saying I cannot seem to connect reliably via Bluetooth. Also, my first post notes that I do not have a supported phone and I am syncing through my computer.
Thanks
