I've updated my Versa to the latest OS and it's introduced this annoying (notifications/quick settings) menu bar. It seems like the watch is trying to do two things at once by mistake - when I swipe down or press and hold the top-right button, I go to notifications but the quick menu also pops down for a moment. This just seems like bad design. Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

No you aren't doing anything wrong, that is how it behaves. Now whether this is a bug or not nobody knows.

 

I would recommend creating a feature suggestion over on the feature suggestions board (here), other users who think the same can then vote on it.
